About
David “Woody” Harman is an Artist Blacksmith. His wife, Brenda, is the resident Broom Maker of hand-tied Appalachian brooms and brushes. Horseback trail riding in the wilderness areas of West Virginia is their passion. Life as a Blacksmith and Broom Mistress allows them to lead a productive life while working with their hands in a rural community.
Both, Brenda and Woody, are founding members of the Pocahontas County Artisan Co-op and juried members of Tamarack. Both are members of the West Virginia Art Guild.
Woody is a member of the Artist Blacksmith Association of North America and the Appalachian Blacksmith Association. He has been blacksmithing for over 35 years with a coal forge. Woody is constantly updating his shop with new and used tools.
Brenda made her first boom in 1993. She is juried with the Allegheny Highland Arts and Craft Center in Clifton Forge, VA.
